Alrite User Guide

In order for our users to get started with Alrite speech recognition software application as smoothly as possible, below we have gathered some useful information and tips for learning about the features.

If the following guidelines do not answer your questions, please feel free to contact us at

After successful registration in the Alrite registration interface, the system will send an automatic e-mail notification to the user’s email address provided during the registration process. In this e-mail, after clicking on the 'Confirm registration' button you will need to enter the code that will be sent via SMS to the phone number provided on the form.

After entering the code, the registration will be activated and you will be able to log in to the Alrite application using the email address and password provided during registration.

If necessary, use the Forgotten password feature to set a new password.

Transcription is the basis of our software solution. In all cases (if the quality of the recording allows it), the recorded or uploaded speech is converted into text, taking into account the spelling rules.

The transcription function is included in all our subscription packages, and the transcript of the given audio or video material is created in each case.

You can create a simple text transcript by dictation or by uploading files (supported formats: .wav, .mp3, .m4a, .ogg, .mp4, .webm, .mov).

To create a transcript from dictation, select Dictation from the left menu. You can start recording the dictation by clicking the microphone icon.

Recording lasts until you click STOP.

The recording cannot be interrupted (paused), and at least 3 seconds of audio must be recorded.

To use this feature, you must allow the browser to access the microphone of the device you are using - whether it is a built-in microphone or an externally connected microphone. The easiest way to do this is in the pop-up window before the first dictation, or in the browser settings.

If you prefer to generate a transcript from an existing, previously created file, select File upload from the menu on the left.

There are several ways to upload the file you want to generate a transcript of. You can search the file system on your computer by clicking either the upload icon or the Browse button

Dragging a particular video or audio to the surface is also a perfect solution. The maximum length of uploadable files is 2 hours and the maximum file size is 1 GB.. In the case of a longer file, the system automatically processes the first 2 hours.

If you have stopped dictation or the file upload is completed successfully, the transcription will start immediately. This may take a few minutes depending on the size of the file and the speed of the internet.

Once the transcription process is successful, the system automatically redirects you to the individual data sheet of the dictated or uploaded file (within the My files menu), where you can listen to or view the file, and read and edit the associated transcript.

The above-mentioned parts of the data sheet (audio, video, text) can also be downloaded separately.

The other main function in addition to transcription is the generation of timed captions.

It is important to note that full captioning is only available in our higher-level subscription packages (Plus, Premium, Professional).

As part of our Starter trial, Lite and Prime packages, the first 2 minutes of dictated and uploaded files will be captioned.

A timed caption file, similar to a transcript file, can be created on the one hand by dictation and on the other hand by file upload (supported formats: .wav, .mp3, .m4a, .ogg, .mp4, .webm, .mov). You can read about how to do this in the previous chapter.

The system creates the transcript of the audio or video file (without timing) and the caption (with timing codes) at the same time, and both versions can be viewed on the data sheet of the given file.

Here, as mentioned in the previous chapter, you can listen to or watch the file.

The text box below the player shows the file caption on the left and the timed caption on the right.

You can only edit the transcript, but changes made to the transcript will be automatically updated in the caption after saving.

The caption can also be downloaded in .srt format.

In addition to dictation and file upload, the app also provides the capability to directly caption YouTube videos. . This option is available through the YouTube captioning menu item in the left menu bar.

To create the transcript and the caption, all you have to do is enter the link to the YouTube video you want to caption. The system then processes and converts the video to the appropriate format, and then creates the corresponding transcript and caption, which is available on the video data sheet after a redirect.

The captioned video, as well as the usual editing and downloading functions, will also appear here.

To download the caption, select the Download/Download caption option from the menu available after clicking the button. The downloaded .srt caption file can be easily uploaded to YouTube Video Manager.

The text of the transcribed or captioned speech may need to be corrected afterwards, but this is also possible on our interface.

By default, the text is in reader mode. To be able to edit it, you need to switch to edit mode, which you can do in two ways: by clicking in the text box or by clicking on the pencil icon.

After that, instead of the pencil button, a ✓ and a ✗ button will be visible, and the letter color of the description part will turn black and the background color will turn white, indicating that the edit mode is active.

Only the transcript can be edited, but as soon as you have made the necessary changes to the transcript and click the gbutton to save them, the edited parts in the caption will also be updated automatically.

If you want to discard the changes or cancel them, click the button.

If you have made corrections to the text and saved them, an Edited version of the text is automatically generated.

In addition, the original version generated by the system can be restored in case we need it again.

Both versions can be found by clicking the button. This button is only active in reader mode and cannot be clicked while editing.

It's important to note that if you already have an edited version and you start to correct in the original version and save your changes, it overwrites the old edited version. A pop-up window also warns you about this!

If your text is already error-free and you want to access it not only on the interface, but also on your computer itself, you can save the transcript in .docx format and the caption in .srt format by selecting the download option from the drop-down menu on the data sheet.

In this form, it can then be further formatted, easily attached in an email message, shared on public interfaces or in closed groups, and so on.

In addition to text download, , audio can also be downloaded in .mp3 format, and video in .mp4 format. Whatever format we upload, the system will always convert it to the ones mentioned above.

It is an extremely useful feature, especially for long texts, that you can search for a specific text or word in the data sheet of the file.

The search box here can help you with this.

After clicking in the search box, you can enter the search term and then press Enter to get the results.

You may want to search the text in reader mode so you can use the Enter key to scroll through the results. If you do this in edit mode, pressing the button will insert a line spacing.

You can search all dictated and uploaded files at the same time as well.

This requires clicking on the search box after navigating to My files. The search also takes place in the names and contents of the files.

The subscriber may delete any audio or video material within the Alrite application, as well as any associated text files. They will then be permanently destroyed and can no longer be retrieved or restored.

Delete can be initiated by clicking Delete in the list that appears by clicking the button. A pop-up window will ask you to confirm the deletion.

Within the trial version (Starter) and lower packages (Prime for business use and Lite for private use), uploaded audio and video materials and their associated text files will be automatically permanently deleted on the 7th day from the moment of upload.

For Plus and Business Premium, Professional service packages, these files are stored until the end of the subscription, unless the subscriber (user) decides to delete one (or even all) of them.

Files dictated or uploaded by users will be automatically deleted by the system at the end of the 3rd day from the end of the trial/subscription, unless the subscription is renewed by that date.
