Troubleshooting

36. What affects the quality of the transcript?

The quality of the transcript mainly depends on the quality of the recorded or uploaded material.

Transcribing can be unsuccessful for various reasons. Firstly, the lack of access approval to your microphone or the insufficient way of connecting your microphone may not result a successful recording and transcription or the system can only generate a low quality of it.

Secondly, it is very important to select the language that the recording or the uploaded files will contain, otherwise the transcription will not be successful.

Furthermore, the quality of the recorded material is affected by the quality of the microphone as well, (mobile or laptop built in microphone, headset, external microphone or other device) the distance between the speaker and the microphone, the volume of the speech and the level of background noises.

Good quality of the recording and the uploaded file results an estimated 95% punctuality of the transcript.

If the environment is less advantageous (high level of background noise, long distance between the device and the speaker and so on) or if the used device is less appropriate for the recording, the transcript results will be effected in a negative way, it can be less punctual.
